We go exploring.
We are off an adventure. He loves to explore … so we go exploring at the airport.
He loves watching the planes and the “workings” of the airport. He loves all things that go round and round.
Today, we go exploring at the Portland Children’s Museum. What an awesome place for kid’s play!
He loved the water room the best.
Oh, what fun it is to splash! It wasn’t easy getting him out of this place.
Doing a little shopping in the grocery store room.
And a little building in the construction room.
And driving with no hands in the vroom room. This was his other favorite room at the museum. We could spend half a day in this room alone.
Then we go exploring with blocks and a light box in the architecture room.
I love watching these little hands work.
Before we left for lunch, we sneak in some more water exploration time — this time without the waterproof smock.
We go exploring at new restaurants. Today, he ate lemongrass beef at Pho Tango and loved it.
We go exploring downtown Portland — and were surprised by the huge rally against budget cuts. We were impressed by the number of parents and students we saw out there.
We go exploring on foot. He points out all of the bikes, buses, trucks, birds and dogs he comes across.
We go exploring with chalk. We had dinner at Siam Society and were pleasantly surprised by their hole-in-the-wall playroom! I see us exploring with sidewalk chalk this summer.
We go exploring with a new addition to our family. We welcome Uncle Marsh and his lovely family to ours.
By the end of the night, we go exploring to see what it feels like to stay up past our bedtime.
I love exploring the world with this boy. The things that I find so normal in our everyday lives is brought to life with so much wonder and delight. I love seeing the world through his eyes — he makes the normal so beautiful. And I am so grateful that.
