Project Life 2011

My Project Life kit arrived (in Turquoise) last week. Jim ordered it for me for Christmas and it arrived sooner than I anticipated.
Last year’s book is still in progress. Most of the summer went undocumented because the nausea pretty much kicked my butt — it wiped me out and my desire to be creative or take photos went out the window. I’m hoping to finish documenting the last couple months (Nov and Dec) in the next few days (or sometime this month).
This year, my focus will be on our family of three. I plan to document our daily life as a family — the change in our family dynamics and priorities with the arrival of our sweet boy, my new role as a mother, finding the balance between family and work, finding time to nurture myself while caring for my little one, etc.
I am excited to embark on this wonderful adventure.
If you’re using Becky Higgins’ Project Life kit to document your life, feel free to join the Project Life Flickr group. I started the group last year and am continuing to moderate it again this year.

I just purchased the mine yesterday. I am super excited to start. I am hoping that having the kit will make it a lot easier to document everyday life.

My kit just arrived, too! I love your opening layout page; I love the colors, tone, pictures, and overall message.
Where did you get those white 2011 stickers? I’ve been looking for white stickers and can’t find any.
I’ve also wondered how those typewritten messages are placed on the little tags. I would love to do the same, but I don’t know how.
Wishing all three of you sheer bliss in 2011 and always.

I adore your title page! I have the turquoise kit, too, and was wondering if you’re using a specific line of extra papers and such that coordinate with that kit. Or are you just raiding your stash for things that go well?

@Lea, Hi Lea,
I’m not using any specific lines of paper to coordinate with the turquoise kit. I pretty much go through my scrap pile and pick up pieces I like to incorporate into my book. As I am making new pages, I cut up the scraps in the appropriate size, round the corners, and stick it in a little container on my desk. When i journal, I may go to Becky’s journaling cards or pull a card from my stash. I like the variety — it adds life to the Project Life album.

I just discovered your blog and I am really enjoying it. Love your take on the project life. I started late in 2010 and basically have been treating it as a day in the life type of project. I’m looking forward to the start of my new “year” of PL in july and this time incorporating more of my scrapbook stash. There are days when I miss my letter stickers!

@Damiane Lucas, Hi Damiane. Happy New Year.
So glad you got your kit and are playing along this year.
The white stickers are from American Crafts — Thickers, Playroom font, white felt.
I used a typewriter to type the message on the tag. It’s really hard to do through a printer.
You should join the Flickr group and Project Life Community at Big Picture Scrapbooking to show off your layouts! Can’t wait to see what you create.
