Studio
We moved into our current house in early September and I’ve been working out of boxes (for the most part) until the arrival of my studio furniture on Christmas Eve.
December 23 : Making space for the new furniture
December 24 : The arrival of the Pottery Barn Logan Desk Suite. The in-home delivery guys assembled and installed the entire unit.
I spent the rest of the afternoon/evening organizing and making room for guests on Christmas Day.
December 31 : What my studio looks like today – simplified, organized and functional.
I love having the stamps, adhesives, paper trimmer, and most often used tools on within reach.
The bigger punches and stamps are stored in a cabinet to the right of my desk.
Some of the paper and embellishments are stored in a cabinet to the left of my desk.
Because I have two huge printers, I am only able to stores some of my pattern paper on the shelves.
Ink pads and acrylic blocks are conveniently stored in a drawer to the right of my desk.
My studio is part of the great room in our home.
Am I able to fit everything in this unit? Certainly not. I have way too much stuff. I am working on simplifying my stash and purging stuff that I haven’t used in years. The skinny bookshelf to the right of my desk currently holds all of my magazines/idea books and pattern papers.

So many changes in your life since I met you… seems like forever ago, but it wasn’t; yet some things remain the same, like trying to get organized and stay organized and becoming disorganized and doing it all again.
It’s a routine with which I’m familiar… and with which I’m comfortable. I like to see you going through the same cycles too.
Another month, though, and your routines will TOTALLY change… for the next twenty-some years or so!
