Astronaut Chris Hadfield
Astronaut Chris Hadfield spent the entire day yesterday talking with students, answering a zillion questions about what it is like in microgravity, and eating lunch + hanging out with a bunch of our science + robotics geeks. Chris is very good with the kids. Chris has a lot of passion for what he does (and life in general) and it is evident in his words. There is a genuineness about him. He included everyone — even stopped to introduce himself to a girl who was especially difficult. Chris injected us with a huge does of inspiration and goodness — perfect for this time of year when everyone is feeling bogged down with stuff. You can watch a brief interview of Chris and a couple of our aspiring young scientists here.

Chris, it was an honor to have you on our campus. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to come to Elk Grove. We look forward to performing a concert with you in 2012 when you’re aboard the ISS.
