Hello Lion Hat.

OK, so I’m not gonna lie. I DIG hats. ALL kinds of hats. Those who know me know that I sport the funkiest hats and do so with pride! When I saw the knitted animal hats today, I knew I had to have them … honestly, I wanted them ALL. However, I had some self [...]

Lone Hiker

Day 7, Friday, July 24, Park City, Utah
Last night, I studied the trail map and decided that I would do one last hike in Park City before departing for home.  I woke up fairly early, had a piece of Cinnamon Swirl bread from the Great Harvest (yum), packed up my waist pack and headed out [...]

A New Toy

A few weeks ago, we purchased a the Panasonic ZS1, a compact camera equipped with a wide angle (25 mm) Leica lens and 12x optical zoom.  I love the size of the camera as it fits nicely into my waistpack for long hikes or runs and slips in my purse for on-the-go, spur-of-the-moment photos.  I [...]

Check this out …

About a week and a half ago, I cleaned out my studio and took a bunch of stuff to GT’s Trash to Treasure sale.  I did not think that I’d make much but guess what?  All but a few items sold!  And today, I went in to turn in some pages + do a little [...]

Panning for Gold.

Part of the Pacific Forest Institute workshop included a 1/2 day of gold panning.  Who know it would be such hard work!  In the end, Julie and I ended up with nada.  Someone in our group found the “sweet spot” thus we all walked away with a piece of California gold.

My little piece of California [...]

Wildflowers

of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

And more wildflowers …

Because I took so many photos of wildflowers, this turned out to be the best way to display them in my book.

Us.

Thao visited mom on her way to Siamphone’s wedding.  Mom was so happy to have us girls together at home.  As usual, she cooked up a huge feast and we caught up while stuffing ourselves.  Mom was especially excited because she got to meet my sisters’ beaus.

Summer days are for …

sleeping in.
lounging on the couch and watching television (watched MJ’s memorial service this morning and now watching Revolutionary Road).
gardening.  Spent a great chunk of the day transplanting flowers into pots and raking leaves (not the fun part).

scrapbooking – which I haven’t done much of since I got back but will begin new projects tomorrow!  (Hey [...]

My Hair

I’ve been trying to grow out my hair for 6 months and have decided that I’ve had enough!  The heat and my so called “long” hair simply don’t mix.  The rash around my neck has only gotten worse.  I love my pig-tails but I done with it too.  So this evening, I had a date [...]

Travel to Sierra Nevada

I spent this week with some nice folks from the Pacific Forest Institute at William Jessup University in Rocklin, CA and 23 other teachers (one from as far as Cairo, Egypt – sort of).  The workshop is FREE to educators — and I mean FREE!  (The only thing I paid for this week was a [...]
